President’s Message:
Hello from Contact Centre Nova Scotia!
For the past nine years, I have lived and worked in Nova Scotia. I came here with my family to set up the Xerox contact centre operation in Burnside. In this capacity, I have met and worked with many fantastic people within the contact centre sector – people who love coming to work, who are very dedicated to their jobs and their community. In short – ideal employees.
When I was approached to become President of Contact Centre Nova Scotia (a voluntary role) I was excited because I feel very strongly that the sector is not well understood and I wanted to work with the CCNS board to try to achieve some important goals.
Firstly, I think that the sector is a bit like Rodney Dangerfield – “and gets no respect”. I think that the sector and the 12,000 people working in it deserve more recognition for the role that they play in supporting their organizations’ customer service; sales; or support functions.
Nova Scotian’s have a great reputation for being “customer friendly”. This is something to be proud of and I hope that CCNS’ vision which is to “build respected, professional careers and enhance the contact centre industry” will be embraced by all who work in the sector whether they are employees; the companies they support of vendors to the sector.
Secondly, I think that CCNS provides a fantastic opportunity for other contact centre leaders to network and share best practices from some ‘Best of Breed’ companies in our midst. Together we learn from each other at monthly seminars and workshops which we hold for our members and other companies.
The other executives on the board and I are very excited about working with you to get to know you better, to learn from you and to share our experiences. Visit our website often to learn more about our events; and join the conversation via Facebook and Twitter. Let’s build on our vision together.
Kind regards,
Cameron Bruce
President, Contact Centre Nova Scotia
