Convergys Corp. is looking for a few good men and women for its New Glasgow contact centre.
The company, headquartered in Cincinnati, is holding an on-site job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday at the centre at 610 East River Rd. It is looking for 70 qualified candidates to fill full-time positions.
The new hires will provide customer service for a Convergys client in the health-care industry.
“They’ll be helping folks who call in who are looking for help with their health-care needs,” spokeswoman Amy Williams said Wednesday.
For confidentiality reasons, she declined to name the health-care client.
While the company hires throughout the year, having recruiting efforts on this scale happens periodically, she said.
“Really it depends on the needs of the client,” Williams explained. “If our client is telling us that they need to bring in some more folks to help out with something, whether it’s a seasonal or non-seasonal opportunity, we will base our hiring on that.”
Interested candidates should have a Grade 12 education, possess a customer service background or have experience in the health-care industry as well as computer and keyboarding skills.
